We left Weimar and headed to Wittenberg, where Martin Luther nailed his 95 theses on the castle church door and thus began The Reformation. We toured the Lutherhaus where he lived and wrote, as well as the castle church (the original doors burned down long ago - their replacements have the 95 theses engraved upon them). It really is quite something to learn again of these events that changed history - by visiting the actual places where they occurred and seeing the artifacts of the time. We put Eliza on the train back to Berlin and headed to Dresden.
Agnes and Mary and Katharina von Bora - Mary was horrified because we posed while a Viking Cruises' group was hearing their guide tell the story of Luther's wife in front of us.
