Heidelberg

We left Koblenz and headed south to Baden Baden via Heidelberg. We headed to the Schloss Heidelberg (or better described as the remaining ruins of the castle). Great vistas from this location, including the oldest university in Germany, the iconic Alte Brucke (aka the Old Bridge), and a great view of the scenic Philosophenweg ( Philosopher's Walk) across the Neckar River.

 

 

Of course, we had to cross the river and do a little of the Philosophenweg. My LP guide book tells me many artists, philosophers and professors of the romantic movement found their inspiration in Heidelberg.
